Birmingham City are reportedly set to do battle with local rivals Aston Villa for the transfer of West Ham United winger Robert Snodgrass.

According to Sky Sports, the two Midlands clubs are interested in a season-long loan move for the Scotsman with Villa leading the way.

It is also believed that Sunderland are interested in the 29-year-old but Steve Bruce looks to have stolen the march for Snodgrass.

Earlier this month the Hammers man was told that he was surplus requirements at the Premier League club and now a loan move to the Midlands looks on the cards.

On Tuesday afternoon, Villa owner Dr.Tony Xai confirmed that the club were talking to somebody about a loan move, and it is now clear that the man they have been talking to is Snodgrass.
