Birmingham City have agreed a deal for Stourbridge defender Dan Scarr. The 22-year-old has been on trial with Blues recently and is set to sign for the club after impressing manager Gianfranco Zola and his backroom staff.

The Glassboys manager Gary Hackett has confirmed that the deal has been struck and suits all parties involved. If personal terms are agreed in the coming days, Scarr will become Blues’ sixth January signing.

Scarr recently forced his way into the FA Cup records with a goal in Stourbridge’s third round defeat against Wycombe Wanderers.

Despite being a central defender, Scarr found the back of the net on seven occasions last season as he clocked up over 50 appearances. However, he has never played in the football league having previously playing for Redditch and Worcester.
