“Blimey”: Not all Birmingham fans agree with Pep Clotet’s “big call” against Sheffield Wednesday

|

It was an incredibly brave call, and I’ll leave you guys to work out if it was the right thing to do given the circumstances.

Birmingham City played out a 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday last night, for their second draw in as many games following the same result against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

And whilst most of the talk pre-match surrounded the comments made by Owls boss Garry Monk and his comments about Blues boss Pep Clotet, once the teams were announced, all that went away and there was a rather more pressing matter at hand, and that was who was and wasn’t in the starting eleven. The big omission from the side was top-scorer Lukas Jutkiewicz.

The 30-year-old has started every game in the league so far this season, but did still manage to get into the game as he was brought on in the 65th minute for goalscorer Alvaro Gimenez. Whether or not it was the right call, it’s hard to say. However these fans certainly couldn’t make up their minds about it, so it looks like we’ll never be able to get a proper answer.

Was it the right call to drop Juke?

Yes

No

I suppose if we’d have lost, the argument might have been a little bit different.
