Blackpool’s wait over injury news on goalkeeper Matt Gilks is over, he has been given the all clear to play against Blues this Saturday.

He was set to be involved with Scotland’s international game with Norway on Tuesday but pulled out of the squad; with a shoulder problem. It can’t be just a small knock, you don’t just say you aren’t playing in an international game for a bit of an ache

Gilks is the last of the fit keepers at Blackpool and losing him would be a hammer blow to the team. I am hoping Lee Clark is taking notice of this situation, the keeper clearly isn’t at full fitness and getting as much shots of as possible surely must be the aim tomorrow.

If Blues fail to work the keeper, I think I’ll have a small stress related break down from my seat. There is no way he is going to want to be diving around all day, so lets make him do just that. Maybe one will eventually just roll past him and we’ll all go home delighted.

This injury has been reoccurring since the game against Nottingham Forest at the start of this month, but Matt insists the pain won’t stop him playing.

Paul Ince’s team are becoming to luck thin on the ground, with players like Ferguson and Jack Robinson missing the trip to St Andrews and others such as Nathan Delfouneso and Isaiah Osbourne still doubts.

Its nice to know not just Blues are having bad injury fortunes this month, misery loves company Paul.
