Birmingham’s Duffy Close to Return

Birmingham City are soon to be welcoming back Mark Duffy to the squad as he nears full fitness once again.

Duffy tore a calf muscle in a warm up for a U21s game and has been out since. The winger couldn’t have wished for a worse time to become injured.

The new winger signed on a free transfer this summer from Doncaster and has been trying to get into the team since pre seaon. Lee Clark started Duffy just once in his time as manager.

Rowett has said that each player will be given a chance under his new management. It would appear that Duffy will also be given a trial period for Gary Rowett before he makes a decision on the player.

Birmingham could have Duffy in time for the Rotherham away game, although involvement in that game could come a few days too soon. He should make some return this month, though.
