Birmingham Winger Set For Free Transfer Departure To League Two Outfit

|

Wes McDonald is set to join Yeovil Town on a free transfer, according to freelance journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The 21-year-old joined from Fulham back in 2013, but despite spending the best part of five years with us, he never made a first-team appearance.

He had two loan spells away from the club, including a month at Nuneaton back in 2016, before joining Solihull Moors for a month in October last year.

McDonald had reportedly been told to find a new club last season, and it seems he has found a new home in League Two.

Despite impressing on occasions for the under 23s, the winger was behind Viv Solomon-Otabor in the pecking order when it came to getting first team chances.

Having returned from a pretty successful loan spell at Blackpool last season, the 22-year-old could well figure more prominently for us if he is given the opportunity by Garry Monk this season.
