Birmingham City wonder-winger Demarai Gray has been selected in the England U20 squad for the first time to play i this summers Toulon tournament.

The event is invitation only and will consist of two groups (A & B) – With the winners meeting in the final on 7 June. 10 teams will take part including Cost Rica; France; Netherlands; Ivory Coast; Morocco; Ivory Coast; Mexico; Qatar and the US.

Gray has been in good form for his age over the past season and has not only caught the eye of other clubs but has been heavily involved in the England U19 set up, where he has 4 appearances. Despite only being on the scene for a year it seems England are ready to move the youngster up to the next level – which is a testament to his ability.

The youngster being away from the club can only mean more contract talk delays as he is yet to sign on the dotted line and it remains unclear whether he will sign at all.

Gary Rowett is still confident on holding onto his young talent for at least another season, should Gray not ask to leave this summer.

Demarai Gray earned himself young player of the year last season, having now made some 48 league appearances for the club at just 18 years old.
