Birmingham Tipped To Make Move For Welsh International Winger

|

The club are weighing up a move for Leicester winger George Thomas, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The Welshman made his senior international debut at the end of last month as a substitute in the 0-0 friendly draw against Mexico.

Thomas did not feature for the Foxes in their first team last season and was restricted to appearances for the Under 23 side in Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy.

The 21-year-old signed from Coventry City last August. The midfielder was a regular for the Sky Blues in League One during the 2016/17 campaign.

At that level, he scored an impressive nine goals in all competitions and also provided two assists in 36 appearances. Such performances would have no doubt caught the eye of Garry Monk and his staff.

With game time likely to be restricted for Thomas at the King Power once again next season, a move away is a possibility. He is generally employed as a right winger but can play on the left-hand side or as a support striker.
