The club are weighing up a move for Leicester winger George Thomas, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The Welshman made his senior international debut at the end of last month as a substitute in the 0-0 friendly draw against Mexico.

Thomas did not feature for the Foxes in their first team last season and was restricted to appearances for the Under 23 side in Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy.

The 21-year-old signed from Coventry City last August. The midfielder was a regular for the Sky Blues in League One during the 2016/17 campaign.

At that level, he scored an impressive nine goals in all competitions and also provided two assists in 36 appearances. Such performances would have no doubt caught the eye of Garry Monk and his staff.

With game time likely to be restricted for Thomas at the King Power once again next season, a move away is a possibility. He is generally employed as a right winger but can play on the left-hand side or as a support striker.

  • Don’t want him not good enough nine goals in League 1 don’t mean Jack so we might score 3 or 4 in the championship we need better we already have better in the team.

    • He never played in league one he played in League 2 9 goals in League 2 is no mean feat is it. So it’s played under 21s football and league 2 football Rohan Hale has more experience than him Viv Solomon otabor as more experienced than him in fact most of our Under-21 team has more experience than him. We should give our own lads a chance if we can’t afford to buy anything better he just ain’t good enough

  • Don’t forget folks, IT’S SILLY SEASON !!!
We’ve already been linked to over 50 players so far.
Not one of them was Pedersen, and I reckon there’s only 3 or 4 that we are genuinely interested in.
With last season’s loans mostly flopping, I think Monk would be reluctant to bring in too many loans, if any.
I’ve asked a few Sky Blues fans I know, about Thomas and they said, he did really well for Cov, was a prolific scorer at youth level, can play wide right, or just behind a target man, and he’s very pacey.
Maybe Monk has tested the water, as a back up plan, who knows.
We’ll just have to wait and see, won’t we.
