Hong Kong billionaire Carson Yeung will NOT complete his takeover of Birmingham City this season, according to reports.

According to the Mirror, Yeung has ‘told associates in the Far East that he will be unable to make any further payments for shares in the club before Christmas.’

Yeung initially pledged to buy the club out for £50million and claimed he had the cash to do so. However, since becoming the club’s largest shareholder he seems to have struggled to complete the deal.

Sullivan had told given Yeung a December 21 deadline to complete the deal – a deadline that will not be met. Perhaps this will mean the focus will be firmly on what happens on the pitch as the transfer window approaches…

Sullivan told the Mirror: “We need a period of stability now. This takeover talk has worn us out over the last few months and it would probably be the end of the season now before we look at things again.”
