Birmingham Reportedly Eyeing Move For Northern Irish International

|

The club are interested in signing Cardiff City goalkeeper Lee Camp, according to WeAreBirmingham (via the Birmingham Mail).

Garry Monk has said that he wants to strengthen his options between the posts, and it looks as if the former QPR and Notts Forest keeper could be a player we are looking to recruit.

Camp has never played for Cardiff despite signing on a free transfer from Rotherham last summer. The 33-year-old spent the second half of the 2017/18 season at Sunderland. He played 12 games for the Black Cats before being replaced by Jason Steele for the last three games of the season.

The Northern Irish international would probably come in as number two to Connal Trueman, who had an excellent first team debut against Norwich on Saturday.

21-year-old Jake Weaver was on the bench for the game against the Canaries, and it seems we are seeking a more experienced player to provide competition, with both David Stockdale and Tomasz Kuszczak having been transfer listed by the club.
