Birmingham Reject Fourth Approach For Gray

Birmingham City have rejected a fourth bid for Demarai Gray from Championship leaders Bournemouth. It is being reported the bid was £3.5 million.

Bournemouth have been desperate to land the young star from Birmingham and have had several bids knocked back after starting very low in their attempts.

Early on in the window they came in with a low offer and they have slowly raised through the window. They are clearly determined to land the player before the window slams shut in the coming week.

How could they possibly secure Gray then? Well it’s quite simply, put their money on the table. It is evident they want to spend as little as possible, trying to find Blues pressure point. Knowing the Midlands club has had its fair share of financial trouble.

A bid of near £5 million has been banded about, but with Blues standing firm it could well be more than that figure. I’m just speculating here.

Demarai Gray has made 24 appearances this season, scoring 4 goals and picking up 2 yellow cards. His impressive hatrick against Reading (6-1) placed the winger on many scouts radars.

Gary Rowett has already expressed a desire to retain the promising winger.
