David Stockdale is not a stranger when it comes to Twitter spats, and the latest was with a guy who claims to be Garry Monk’s cousin.
It all started when one Brighton supporter reacted to a post by another Seagulls fan accusing Garry Monk of poorly handling the situation over the goalkeeper.
Then a claim was made by one of them that our no.13 “let himself down” stating that he knows the details due to his family connection. After a back and forth, Stockdale then explains exactly what happened during the meeting with Monk:
I’ve never said that at all. I actually said we had a good chat he said I’m not in his plans and we shook hands. But to say(or insinuate)I’ve done something or you’ve been told by him that I’ve done something wrong isn’t good. So if he’s told you nothing what is it that you know?

From the keeper’s perspective, it seems things are pretty clear-cut. It was all very professional and amicable. Bolton are reportedly after the 32-year-old on loan with the Birmingham Mail believing negotiations are “ongoing.”
With the loan window closing at the end of the month, there is no rush for the deal to be concluded. It’s likely the major issue will be wages and what percentage the Trotters are willing to pay.
