Birmingham On Alert As Uruguayan Frontman Confirms Club Exit

|

Abel Hernandez has confirmed that he will be leaving Hull City when his contract expires at the end of June.

The Uruguayan will be available on a free transfer after the striker confirmed he could not agree on a new deal with the Tigers to remain at the KCOM stadium.

He told his followers on Twitter about the news on Saturday:

“This is why you deserve to know, directly from me, that my time at Hull is now over, everything comes to an end and today I have to say goodbye.”

“Sometimes a fair agreement is not reached, and football is like that. I wish you all the best for the next year, I truly that you can soon return to the Premier League because the club deserves it!”

We are reportedly interested in signing the 27-year-old and his decision to leave Hull will no doubt spark a transfer scramble between a host of interested clubs.

Aston Villa, Leeds United and Newcastle United are also reportedly tracking the forward, and based on his departing comments on social media, it seems like finances will play an important role in deciding his next club.

Hernandez spent the majority of last season sidelined with an Achilles tendon injury, but has an excellent record in the Championship, averaging more than a goal every two games in the second tier of English football.
