Demarai Gray will be asked to commit his future to the club following an impressive debut season in the first team. There has been plenty of speculation regarding his future of late.
Blues are eager to put to be speculation about the young mans future by having him sign a new long term deal with the club.
It is understood that Gray will be told his development will be best served at Birmingham in a pressure free environment under Rowett and his team.
Gray is coming straight from a youth contract, so his jump in wages, regardless of Birmingham’s finances will still be substantial if he agrees to sign.
The youngster confirmed he was to upgrade his car soon, so he may well have already agreed to sign a new deal and that his upturn in wages will pay for his new car.
It would be sensible to ask Gray to sign a four year deal but we will have to wait for the details.
Birmingham need to get this contract signed, if not for the good of the team for the good of the fans. They deserve to see the club hold onto its most recent asset.
Time and time again this regime have let home grown, talent to be proud of, leave this club for no where near their rightful value.
Some haven’t even gone on to better things, Butland in particular has stagnated in his career, Whilst Redmond had to settle for an off the bench appearance this weekend.
Gray has special ability, and that needs to remain in a Birmingham shirt for a few more years yet.
