Birmingham City manager Lee Clark is convinced his sides defensive problems last year are some way to being order and done with. The Blues boss believes it was a big factor in the team struggling.
“Our defensive column, goals against column, was poor,”
Clark is not wrong, Blues were a mess at the back quite often conceding two in quick succession.
“We have to rectify that and that`s the whole group, myself the manager addressing it and bringing in players who will, too.”
Birmingham have strengthened massively at the back, in fact we polled our readers and found that fans now thought defensive was Birmingham`s most solid position for this coming season.
“I believe we have done so and I am happy with the defensive options. We have got good competitions in all areas.”
Blues have made plenty of signings at the back, Gavid Gunning; David Edgar; Jonathan Grounds; Grant Hall and the team are also welcoming back Neil Eardley from long term injury. Blues haven`t been tests defensively quite yet, that first team unfortunately comes as Blues start their season away at Middlesbrough.
