The club are keeping tabs on FC Ingolstadt goalkeeper Orjan Nyland, according to the Birmingham Mail.
The Norwegian has been with the German club since 2015 after signing for £900k from Molde. He has played in the Bundesliga during the 2016/17 season but was dropped after nine games following a run of two draws and seven defeats, during which he conceded 19 goals.
He regained his first team place last campaign after relegation to Bundesliga-2, keeping ten clean sheets and conceding 36 times in 30 appearances as Ingolstadt finished ninth in the league.
Nyland is a senior international for Norway, having been capped 27 times by his country since his debut in 2013, although he was used sparingly during the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
It’s interesting to see us once again looking to the German second division for potential signings. It’s likely we have a scout in the country, and hopefully, if we do make a move for the keeper, he can be an improvement on David Stockdale and Tomasz Kuszczak.
