Birmingham Keeper’s Move In Serious Doubt After Latest Bid Is Turned Down

|

We have rejected a loan offer from Leeds United for David Stockdale, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The Whites have previously had a transfer offer rejected, but after their latest proposal, they are now considering pulling out of a move altogether.

Journalist Phil Hay reports that Leeds were happy to pay a “sizeable portion” of the 32-year-old’s wages, but it is believed that we will only let the keeper leave on a permanent basis.

Stockdale did not return for pre-season along with the rest of the first team but it is said he will start training next week with the academy players.

The club are looking at FC Ingolstadt’s Orjan Nyland as the club’s new number one, but any deal for the Norwegian international is likely to depend on us offloading our no.13 first.

If Leeds do pull out, there don’t seem to be any other potential suitors currently which is a concern. The Yorkshire club’s offer is believed to have been a season-long loan with an option to buy.

It seems clear that the club do not want to see Stockdale back at the club after next season if he fails during his stint at Elland Road.
