Birmingham Keeper Takes To Twitter To Reject Wage Demand Claims

|

David Stockdale has been involved in a Twitter spat with a Leeds Fan related to his reported salary.

In now deleted tweets RamblingsoftheSS is said to have questioned the 32-year-old’s commitment to join the Whites amid claims of sizeable wage demands.

Our no.13 replied to reject reports that he is on £40k a week:

Verdict:

Whether he is on close to £40k a week or not, it seems very likely that we are looking to offload the 32-year-old in order to get him off the wage bill.

Despite his inconsistent performances last campaign, there are few goalkeepers that are better in the Championship. He was named in the League’s Team of the Year for 2017 when he was at Brighton.

However, it looks as though we don’t believe his contribution is worthy of what he is being paid. Leeds have yet to offer a satisfactory amount for our no.13 regardless of his salary anyway, so until they make a decent bid, the issue of his wages is really a moot point.
