Birmingham City will start to put together their first starting XI over the next two games. Gary Rowett has revealed to bcfc.com that the next lineups will be closer to the August 8 line up.

The Blues are contenting with fitness issues at the moment, a fair few of the team have not successfully came through their previous game.

‘Charlee Adams was injured out in Spain and he is working his way back from that.

‘Andrew Shinnie picked up an injury at Northampton. He jarred his knee, or banged it. It doesn’t look any worse than a week to 10 days out.

‘Paul Caddis pulled his back the other day. He came in a bit sore. We did not risk him the last game but we are hoping he will start training again.

‘Dave Davis will be exactly the same. He picked up a bit of a tight groin on Tuesday. At the moment in training you get players suffering from tightness and soreness. Some get through it, some think they have to protect it.

‘Come the weekend possibly only Charlee and Shins won’t be available to play.’ Rowett revealed.

The news probably comes as a great shame to Charlee Adams, a young central midfielder who was tipped to have an impact during this pre-season period. The bright talent has impressed out on loan with Lincoln, making 28 appearances and scoring 2 wonderful goals.

The 20 year old will be hoping he can return to full fitness in time to convince Rowett that he can cut it in the Championship this season. If not, it will be another period of loan spells for him.

Andrew Shinnie, the other player set to miss out on Saturday. The Scot will be mindful of the potential arrival of Fabbrini and added competition for his place in the team.

Birmingham City head to Burton on Saturday ahead of their continued preparation for the upcoming Championship season.
