Birmingham In Four Way Tussle For Liverpool Wide Man

|

The club are interested in Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo, according to Goal.com.

Journalist Neil Jones, who used to work for the Liverpool Echo, believes we are one of four teams weighing up a loan move for the 21-year-old.

Our rivals Aston Villa, Stoke City and Derby County are also said to be in the running for Ojo. He spent last season on loan at Fulham, but injuries scuppered his chances of regular first-team football.

The midfielder made 19 starts and 24 appearances in total for the Cottagers, scoring four goals and contributing two assists.

It’s likely that Garry Monk is seeking to strengthen his options on the wing if he continues using the 4-4-2 system he employed during the run-in.

Ojo generally plays on the right wing, and would certainly offer some competition for the likes of Jota and Jacques Maghoma out wide. Our only other options currently would be Viv Solomon-Otabor and possibly Che Adams.
