Lee Clark has revealed that Lee Novak will be out for around a month after damaging his knee in training.

Lee Novak has damaged his knee as the club staff wait for the swelling to go down to asses the extent of the damage.

Lee Clark said to BCFC.com ‘It is a blow for us because he`s an important part of what we`re trying to do.’

The striker is expected to be out for around a month, Leaving Lee Clark pretty light up front. Fellow striker Denny Johnstone has also been taken injured with a thigh strain.

Birmingham will have to troop on with fewer numbers than they would have liked. Clayton Donaldson and Wes Thomas look the favourites to start the games with new winger Brek Shea being eyed as a potential striker.

Lee Novak plays almost every game for Birmingham, a clear favourite of the manager’s. He often is deployed in a wide role if he isn’t required as a striker. He may be back in time to face Bolton Wanderers at St Andrews in October.
