Birmingham Defender Going Nowhere

Gary Rowett has dismissed speculation linking Michael Morrison with a move away to Huddersfield town. Apparently he would have been willing to quit Birmingham for the right more.

It is no wonder Morrison is attracting attention from other clubs. The resolute defender was Rowett’s first addition since coming in from Burton Albion and is seen as a cornerstone of the Birmingham City recovery.

The summer transfer window is quite often the window where the more substantial transfers can take place, clubs willing to sell big players as they have the time to bring in a replacement that may see them make a profit on the exchange.

But as far as this one goes, it is dead from the Birmingham side of things and Rowett has no interest in seeing a key defender leave.

I would also expect this one to be a complete dud given that we are expecting another defender in this position to come in, whether that is a return for Kiernan or not. So it would be odd to let Morrison leave whilst we are courting a player in that position.

Michael Morrison will most likely remain at Birmingham if you take Rowett’s word over some media outlets.
