Birmingham Could Sign Defender

Birmingham will be able to keep hold of Michael Morrison provided that they can agree an extension on his loan or a permanent move for the defender.

Morrison has settled in well with Birmingham and the squad at the club and it is understood he would like to remain at the club if he can.

Charlton are unlikely to want to hold onto the defender that has been out of favor since the summer, despite signing a new deal. However having so long on his deal would suggest a relatively decent transfer fee.

Whether Birmingham will be able to shell out enough money for a permanent transfer would remain to be seen but signings have been materialising under the leadership of Pavlakis.

What could be a worry for Blues is Morrison’s run of good form since joining on loan. There could well be some competition for his signature come January.

With that being said it would seem like Birmingham would be Morrison’s preferred choice after settling so well into the team and enjoying playing for the manager.

Morrison began his career at Cambridge United in 2005 before making a move to Leicester where he made 72 league appearances. Whilst at Charlton he made 136 appearances and his omission from the team came as a surprise, but has benefited Birmingham greatly.
