Birmingham City have announced that young midfielder Wes McDonald has joined non-league Nuneaton Town on a one-month youth loan.

He will be the second member from the under 21’s squad to join town in a matter of months with forward Kyle McFarlane having previously been on loan there, but his loan deal is due to expire tonight (Friday) at midnight.

The 18 year old has played regular football for the under 21’s side this year and he has netted three times in 14 appearances.

Nuneaton currently sit in sixth place in the National League North and they are just two points off a play-off spot.

McDonald recently played against Town in a friendly, a game which Blues won 2-0, and he looks set to take part in their next league fixture when they travel to Brackley Town on Saturday.
