Birmingham City manager Gianfranco Zola has today confirmed in his pre-Reading press conference that young winger Viv Solomon-Otabor could be set to leave the club before the closure of the January transfer window.

The window is due to close tomorrow evening and speaking ahead of Blues’ home game against the Royals which takes place on Tuesday night, Zola has admitted that the club are looking to send the 21-year-old out on loan.

Zola believes that the London-born winger would benefit from a loan move away from the club as they believe he would gain more from playing week in, week out.

The club tweeted from their official account that the loan move is set to happen so he can gain more competitive experience.

Stay tuned to Vital Birmingham as we bring you all the ins and outs ahead of the last 34 hours of the transfer window.
