Birmingham City are reportedly set to sign Watford striker Jerome Sinclair on loan until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old forward is being brought in by Gianfranco Zola in a precautionary deal as the Italian goes in search of his first win as Blues boss.

The Hornets striker is originally from Birmingham and although he may not be the prolific striker that Blues fans were hoping for, he will certainly be a handful in the Championship.

Sinclair, who is a product of the Liverpool academy having started out at West Bromwich Albion, joined the Hornets in the summer for a fee in the region of £4 million, and it is now believed that he is looking for chances away from the Premier League side.

The young striker has played seven times this season for Watford, scoring once. His most recent appearance came in Sunday’s 1-0 loss at League One side Millwall in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
