Birmingham City target commits to Ligue 1 club

Birmingham City transfer target Benoit Assou-Ekotto has put to bed any chance of playing under Harry Redknapp next season.

The former Tottenham Hotspur player has today signed a new one-year contract with current club Metz.

Assou-Ekotto, 33, played under Redknapp at Spurs and despite speculation that the left-back might make a surprising move into the porn industry, he will be playing his football in France once again next season.

  • Assou-Ekotto was never a target anyway that was just Redknapp joking around with the media.
