Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp is reportedly keen on bringing Ajax left-back Mitchell Dijks back to England this summer.

The 24-year-old was on loan at Championship rivals Norwich City in the second half of last season and made 15 appearances for the Canaries.

Norwich decided not to take up the £4m option of signing Dijks permanantly.

His contract at Ajax expires next summer and should Blues make their move, the Dutch side may be happy to cash in.

  • Here we go again-who next-perhaps World class striker David Village or the mighty WayCool winger!

  • LOL you mist out supper attacking midfielder Ohio. I have to say I don’t know much about Mitchell Dijks was he not just a emergence loan for Norwich.

  • Second hand speculation, but then given a choice I would rather voice my opinions on Vital. There may well be something in this one. We need a left back, this one has played in the Championship and held his own. He is the right age and possibly the right price. Keita is more of an attacker than a defender and I think it likely he will be played further forward, or even as an impact player, so a natural left back as competition for Grounds is almost a certainty this summer.

  • may well have a point. Just that I am getting a bit twitchy on the JT front. Gone a bit too quiet.

  • gazal I agree Keita on the left wing would be better. If Dijks is a more strong defensive left back better than grounds then OK. But I cant see Redknapp using Keita as a wingback ever. I cant see him using wingbacks full stop.
