Birmingham City Stand On The Edge Of Wonderland

|

Written by: Mitchell Bray

It has only been this Christmas week that the penny has dropped.

Nothing to do with the festive period or the extra spirit consumed. With adversity over adversity since day one of this season-our beloved club has overcome every obstacle. Result being that we stand on the edge of wonderland with a fair chance of going one better come May next.

Garry Monk has not only achieved great results from his thinnest of squads, but has done it in style with away victories at tough arenas such as Leeds and Stoke and with a home form that must be the envy of most Championship clubs.

Reality now shapes up as to what we can now achieve with twenty-two games remaining, and who must be feared or fancied. Truth is the answer is nobody, particularly if you are a blues player.

We are unexpectedly blessed to have this group of players at this particular given time. Results were needed for reasons other than promotion and they have delivered big time. Can they continue this onslaught up the league and shock the likes of Leeds, WBA, Norwich and Sheffield United? Time will obviously tell and whatever the final table looks like next May, nobody in B9 will be downcast.

These players have so far worn the shirt with pride, reflecting the managers infectious desire to get the name of BCFC back in the respect league, which may ultimately take an even higher ranking this very season.
