Birmingham City have announced the permanent signing of Watford`s attacking midfielder Diego Fabbrini.

The move seemed to be a complicated one to get over the line but after very hard work from acting director of the football club, Panos Pavlakis, things moved swiftly and a deal was done for the Italian.

Previously on loan with promotion rivals Middlesbrough, Blues needed to wait until Aitor Karanka had found a replacement for the 25 year old and with the addition of Southampton midfielder Gaston Ramirez, the transfer to Birmingham moved quickly.

The club have confirmed that a fee of £1.5 million has been paid for the services of the Italian, who has one international cap to his name, and Fabbrini becomes the biggest transfer in terms of fee that Blues have signed in just over five years with Curtis Davies being the last big name to sign for the club.

It has also been confirmed that Fabbrini has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Blues and this signing shows a real statement of intent from the club as they look to get into those all important play-off spots.

Blues fans, how happy are you have Diego Fabbrini back at St.Andrews? Where does he fit into the current team? Let us know in the comment section down below!
