Birmingham City have announced the signing of non-league midfielder Luke Maxwell from Kidderminster Harriers.

The 18 year old has signed for Blues on a three-and-a-half year deal for a fee believed to be £75,000, confirmed the club on their official website.

Making 22 appearances at Aggborough this season, Maxwell has pressed his own stamp on the midfield and during his playing time this term he has also scored one goal.

As part of the agreement between the two sides, Maxwell will head straight back out on loan to the non-league side for the rest of the season.

Blues have signed the teenager as part of their development squad with Reece Brown looking increasingly likely to leave the club with West Ham United, AFC Bournemouth and Manchester City all reportedly interested in the youngster.
