Earlier this week, Vital Birmingham discussed the matter of Blues attacking midfielder Andy Shinnie being allowed to leave the club and now it looks like that move could be about to happen.

According to Hibernian manager Neil Lennon, the Scottish side have made contact with Blues about bringing in the 27-year-old in on loan, something which is likely to be entertained by Gary Rowett.

With Che Adams and Greg Stewart both being able to operate in that number 10 role that Shinnie is well known for playing in, his chances have become very limited, especially as he was already behind Diego Fabbrini in the first team selection as well.

Here is what Lennon had to say on the matter: ‘We`ve made contact with Birmingham City and we`re waiting to hear from the player now.

‘It would be a loan. We`ll see how that goes, he`s a player I`ve liked for a long, long time and his availability came to us. We made an approach for him so we`re waiting to hear now.’
