Birmingham City on Shutdown

Manager Lee Clark has shut down the club for a few days, following a worrying outbreak of sickness.

During Birmingham`s last home draw against Barnsley, three players were shockingly ill at half time. Lee Novak, Olly Lee and Paul Robinson all showed signs of illness. I wonder if Clark considers it to of had an effect on the player`s performance.

Birmingham`s Christmas schedule was thick and fast, this unorthodox break can now give the players some rest. Sickness bugs can be relentless when going through an establishment and football clubs are obviously no different.

Manager Lee Clark is not taking the time off though, he is set to go and observe the ever more relevant tie happening at Broadfield Stadium as Crawley take on Bristol Rovers; for the right to play Birmingham January 7th.

Bartley misses that game with a hamstring injury, whilst Dan Burn returns to Fulham this week. Birmingham have been dealt a hammer blow for the new year.
