Although the season hasn’t yet come to an end which means we could still see a banger or two, now comes the time to mention what I believe is the goal of the season.

Birmingham City haven’t score many wonder goals this season if I remember correctly, in fact we haven’t actually scored that many goals, but what I will say is that of the ones we have scored, there have been some very nice ones.

As we have already seen, Rob Wildey has picked out David Davis’ against Aston Villa and Luke Turner has picked out Kerim Frei’s thunderbolt of a freekick against Rotherham United so the choices are getting narrowed so it was difficult for me to choose mine.

I have two in mind, neither of which have already been taken so it is difficult to pick out of the two of them but I believe the goal I have chosen is worthy of getting the crown for goal of the season.

Lukas Jutkiewicz vs Sheffield Wednesday – St.Andrews, September 17th

Like I said before, it may not technically class as a screamer but Jutkiewiczs’ header against the Owls was one that had the whole stadium feeling like it was in slow motion.

When the ball was played over to him by Jacques Maghoma, he stretched mid-air to reach the ball and loop the ball towards the far post and luckily for Blues, it dropped in the far corner to secure all three points.

Although he score a similar goal in the game against Brighton and Hove Albion, I believe that this goal against Sheffield Wednesday was more significant because it won us all three points.

Blues fans, do you think this was goal of the season? Stay tuned for the final Goal of the Season nomination tomorrow. Once all four have been nominated, there will be a vote on our twitter page so make sure you go and check it out!
