Widespread reports are suggesting that Gary Rowett is lining up Sunderland winger Will Buckley and Walsall striker Tom Bradshaw in a bid to help Blues reach the play-offs.

It was reported earlier in the season that Bradshaw was a target for Blues and despite bringing James Vaughan in on Friday (8th), it looks as though Rowett is still keen on a move for the League One hot shot.

Press Association reporter Nick Mashiter tweeted out that the third tiered side had rejected a bid for Bradshaw from an unnamed Championship club which is widely believed to be Blues.

However, with the initial bid being rejected, it is likely that Rowett will now go back in with an improved offer for the Welshman but it could still fall short of Walsall’s £1.5 million valuation.

Moving slightly down the pitch and it is believed that Black Cats winger Buckley will become the second player to sign for Rowett’s side during this transfer window.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion wide-man has struggled to make the impact he was hoping for at Sunderland and manager Sam Allardyce has now said that he can leave the stadium of Light on a loan deal.

Earlier in the season, Buckley went out on loan to Leeds United and he made his debut against Blues and he now looks set to make the trip to the Midlands as Rowett eyes a quick replacement for the departed winger, Demarai Gray.
