Birmingham City have today enquired about bringing Wayne Routledge to the club according to Sky Sources.

The 32-year-old has made 20 appearances in all competitions this season for the Welsh club but with Gianfranco Zola in the market for a left sided winger, Routledge fits the bill perfectly.

Blues have already failed in a bid to bring Crystal Palace winger Bakary Sako to the club but Zola isn’t waiting around and he now looks like he moved on to a new target.

According to reports, Blues have also enquired about the possibility of bringing Derby County winger Johnny Russell as Zola looks to add an experienced to his ranks.

According to Sky representatives, the deal to bring Routledge to St.Andrews would be in the region of £3 million, whereas the Russell deal is yet to be revealed.

  • A lot of money for a 32 year old so a short term investment really. Very skillful player with a lot of top flight experience though.

  • A bit old but can still do a Job he is better than what we have at the moment.
Johnny Russell not better than what we have and I hope this one is rubbish.
