Birmingham City have confirmed via their official website that they will not be offering traillist Royston Griffiths a contract.

It is believed that the former Perth Glory midfielder was unable to impress manager Gary Rowett enough in order to earn a permanent contract with the club.

Despite good performances against Nuneaton Town and Kidderminster Harriers, Griffiths failed to show his ability against Northampton Town on Tuesday night and subsequently, after an injury to his hip, he got substituted.

A poll, which was released by Vital last week, stated that 87% of the fans vote believed that Rowett should have given Griffiths a contract but unfortunately, things have not quite worked out as fans would have hoped.

In the same interview, Rowett also confirmed that the club are still looking at other triallists Peniel Mlapa and Shane Lowry but deals for either of those players are still some way off.

Blues fans, what do you make of the news? Do you agree with Rowett’s comments about us not seeing enough of Griffiths? Or do you believe he had shown enough quality in his three performances to earn a contract with the club? Let us know in the comment section down below!
