Birmingham City have announced the loan signing of Huddersfield Town striker James Vaughan on a short term loan deal.

The former Everton man joins Gary Rowett’s side on the last day of the loan window, with the Blues boss earlier confirming that he was focused on bringing in another striker to replace the injured Clayton Donaldson.

During his time with Huddersfield, Vaughan has scored 31 goals in just under 90 appearances, which is a fairly decent return, considering he has had a lot of injuries.

Having been injured for a large chunk of this current Championship season, Vaughan is yet to register this term, something which he hopes he can put right by joining Blues.

The 27 year old is a Birmingham boy himself so will know all about the passion of the fans and what the club means to everyone in the surrounding area.

It is expected that he will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s game against the unbeaten Brighton and Hove Albion.

Blues fans, what do you make of this signing? Is it a good one for the club? Will he fill the void that Donaldson have left? Let us know in the comment section down below!
