Birmingham’s boss Gary Rowett is pleased that some of his players are being linked with other clubs.

Both Demarai Gray and Darren Randolph could be on their way out of the club in January after being linked with a whole host of different teams.

Gary Rowett has welcomed the interest, explaining that it means that his players are doing well.

Taken from birminghammail.co.uk These are great distractions, people talking about Demarai in January and big clubs after him – that`s because he is performing well for Birmingham,

People will start talking about Darren Randolph, that`s because he is performing well for our club.

That`s what we want, we don`t want to be talking about us performing not very well.

If some of them play really well and move on and further their careers, then brilliant, I want ambitious players and I want players that are better than our level because that means we will be successful.’

Of course Rowett is taking the interest on the chin, indeed there isn’t much Blues can do with either player’s situation.

Randolph is nearing the end of his contract and if he won’t commit to a new deal then it would be best for the club to cash in on him in the next window.

With Gray, it looks like he could bring in a fee that would be too much to turn down. He also is yet to commit himself to a new deal.

What the manager has done is cleverly revert transfer speculation back to a topic that is all inclusive of his revolution at Birmingham.

If these players leave it is because Birmingham are doing well and he is confident they will continue to do well.
