These Blues fans have been remembering the career of a certain 6’6 giant that graced St Andrew’s many years ago.
In the latest instalment of ‘nostalgia overload’ from the Birmingham City social media team whilst they try to fill the void that is life now that football is off the menu for the next few weeks minimum, they’ve dipped into the archives to reminisce about a very important figure in the club’s history, and that’s Nikola Zigic.
Zigic didn’t score that many goals, 36 across four seasons with the club, but there were certainly some important ones thrown in there, like the winner against Aston Villa in the League Cup quarter-final, and one of the two goals against Bolton on the final day of the 2013-14 season (or both goals if you think his header crossed the line before Paul Caddis’ effort).
So when the club put out a series of tweets about the big man, it gave fans the perfect chance to recall some of their favourite memories of him.
I remember being stood behind that waiting for the ball to drop into the net, seemed like hours haha! What a team that was

And on our way to becoming the only side in the West Midlands to actually win anything of note this century. Zigic: the big man for the big occasion ❤

The final wasn't bad either. I'll take the cup win over relegation.

Scoring both goals in the great escape (the ball was definitely over the line)
