Birmingham City have been in fine form on home soil this season, remaining unbeaten at St. Andrew’s throughout the entirety of their 2018-19 campaign so far.
In fact, the Blues’ dominance at home stretches began in the latter stages of last season, the 7th March to be exact, and it has certainly been crucial to the performances of Garry Monk’s side this term as they fight for a playoff spot.
Currently sat just four points behind sixth-placed Sheffield United, the signs look positive for Birmingham but there is still some fans who are calling for changes to be made – and some on social media this week have been discussing a shift in the club’s seating plans.
The Gil Merrick stand is utilised as the section for away supporters at the moment but plenty have called for Blues fans to be put behind both goals, believing it will improve the atmosphere and provide a boost.
We have gathered some of their comments below.
Yep – been saying it for yonks – as a STH in the GML Iβd love to have all of the upper & lower of that stand – no coincidence that the majority of our goals at home are scored at the Tilton Rd end – the backing like that at both ends of the ground has to be a positive ππΌππΌ

Been saying for Years we should have both ends. Donβt see why we canβt utilise Main Stand/Paddocks. Away Fans sat there years ago? Having them behind the Goal gives Away Teams a lift, that said not doing too bad at the moment eh?! #bcfc

Gil merrick is the best view in the house, god knows why we give it the away fans

The away fans should go in the paddock.
It’s a massive waste giving them the fill Merrick.
