Birmingham City have been in fine form on home soil this season, remaining unbeaten at St. Andrew’s throughout the entirety of their 2018-19 campaign so far.

In fact, the Blues’ dominance at home stretches began in the latter stages of last season, the 7th March to be exact, and it has certainly been crucial to the performances of Garry Monk’s side this term as they fight for a playoff spot.

Currently sat just four points behind sixth-placed Sheffield United, the signs look positive for Birmingham but there is still some fans who are calling for changes to be made – and some on social media this week have been discussing a shift in the club’s seating plans.

The Gil Merrick stand is utilised as the section for away supporters at the moment but plenty have called for Blues fans to be put behind both goals, believing it will improve the atmosphere and provide a boost.

We have gathered some of their comments below.

  • I think it maybe easier to police away fans if they are on one side. That may be why they are in Gil Merrick. Put them in the main stand.

  • Used to be called Railway end back in the day
Away fans above Blue noses below
Then we’re the days ,great atmosphere

  • Yes agree! I was in that stand first match it opened. Looks great full of Blues fans. Away fans should be in Paddocks. I’d put them far end of Paddocks just before Tilton. Easier exit down Coventry road as well for home fans then if away fans routed down Garrison Lane. Open ground area behind far end of Main stand could be converted to coach park?
