Bale interests McLeish

Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has admitted that he is keeping an eye on Tottenham`s Gareth Bale.

McLeish has been busy during close season building up a new look Birmingham side that can compete in the Premier League next season.

And after promising that the buying had not finished yet, it may be that the Blues boss would be interested in trying to tempted Spurs to part with the player.

Bales’ time in North London has been plagued by injuries and a lack of consistency but should Spurs be ready to do business, McLeish would be at the front of the queue.

‘Gareth Bale is another name we’d have to consider if he was available,’ McLeish said.
