Well, I suppose now is as good a time as any to get the debate going.
I suppose we shouldn’t really be surprised by this in the grand scheme of things, given how many managers we have gone through in the past, will one more managerial departure after such a short spell in charge really make that much of a difference to the landscape of the club?
I don’t think so.
Given what happened yesterday morning, it’s time that the club start looking towards the future, and that means trying to find a new man to lead the team from the dugout, and the fans have been having their say on the matter on social media. And to say that they’ve been passionate about the debate would be a bit of an understatement.
Where should the Blues look for their next boss?
The past
Someone new
Whether it be a case of trying to bring back someone who has already been in charge of the Blues, or trying someone new, there were plenty of names being thrown around by the fans. Some of them pleading for them to come, others begging them to stay away.

What about you? Do you think the club should look back to a previous boss? Or try someone new?
Mikael Forrsell, has said in the past that he would love to manage Blues one day, well maybe that day has come. He’s an extremely intelligent man who knows the club and has a hero status amongst many fans, if we’re looking for someone young and fresh i’d definitely give him a chance.
People can band about this name that name but the Board will only employ someone on the cheap and who they can control.Any descent Manager/Coach would bring their own backroom staff in and have a little control over transfers but that is not going to happen at Blues. If it were the case then why did they not employ someone when Monk went instead of employing Clotet who basically was a Coach elevated to the so called Managers role and a terrible record as a Manager. So we Blues fans need to be realistic, the backroom staff are staying I presume so that should tell us something,of course I would like to see a someone who has managed in the role but I fear the worst and think Gardner will be promoted from within and that would be wrong, as I do think you need a clean brush.
Tracey Tyler, Brian Dick reported in the BM yesterday that they were looking at an experienced manager with a proven record at championship level at getting teams promoted, I have a bad feeling it will be Warnock.
Lee Carsley did a good job in temporary charge, a few years ago. He is Blues man, he said at time he was too early for him. Maybe now is the right time. I think he would put his heart into it, and be respected by the players. If he wants it give him a go !.
Peter Frazier Lee Carsley?, are you serious? Maybe you’ve forgotten his last game in charge where we were hammered 6-1 at Hull and looked totally disjointed. No thanks.
After reading a few of the comments, let’s test the board with two names who I think would want to run the club as a football club not as a business, so my two names would be 1) Steven Gerrard from Glasgow Rangers and 2) Lee Bowyer from Charlton Athletic.
As pointed out above and by Brian Dick, I think the promotion thing is going to be a huge part of the proceedings, but if none of those options are available (Jokanovic, Hughton, Bruce, Warnock etc), I think Lee Bowyer would be an excellent shout
