Domestic football returns this weekend after the international break and Birmingham City will be looking to extend their fine run of form.

Garry Monk’s side have lost just one of their last 13 matches in the Championship, surging up the table as a result and now sitting on the verge of truly pushing themselves into the promotion hunt.

A stern test awaits this weekend as the Blues make the short trip across the city to tackle arch-rivals Aston Villa, looking to put recent history behind them as results at Villa Park have not been positive in the past few years.

With an impressive run of form behind them, Birmingham fans have increased in confidence significantly ahead of this weekend’s game and some have taken to social media to express their optimism ahead of the clash.

However, vocal Villa supporters have not shied away from responding to these claims and we have gathered some of their reactions below.

  • The blues game is just another game to the villa – yeah right!!!!
That’s why it’s going to be your biggest crowd of the season. The 2500 fans will out sing your 35,000. UTB + SOTV.

  • I don’t care how many plastic vile scum are there. We will be louder and prouder. If they lose they will call for Smith to be sacked like the fickle vile scum bag’s they are. KRO SOTV.
