Aston Villa lost yesterday in their FA Cup final against Arsenal. In what was a day to forget, Arsenal dominated from start to finish and the boys in Claret and Blue were completely absent from the final – maybe they missed the coach.
But with that said, it is well worth noting that some unscrupulous jokers decided to have a little dig at Blues before leaving for Wembley.
Leaving a banner on the gates of St Andrews that read ‘The city is yours, while we’re at Wembley’ – you may remember this is what Blues fans sang to Aston Villa as we dumped them out the Carling cup on the way to beating Arsenal at Wembley.
Now everyone loves a bit of banter, and it is a risk you take when dishing it out that it may well come back to bite you. So fair play to those who put it up and unlucky that your team couldn’t back it up.
At least some of the Midlands teams can do us justice against the Londoners. Birmingham remain the most successful Midlands team since the turn of the century. Keep right on.
