Birmingham City have performed excellently under the guidance of Garry Monk this season, who has taken the team from relegation strugglers last year to fighting near the top of the standings in 2018-19.
The former Swansea City and Middlesbrough boss has earned a reputation for being a bit of a journeyman in his career so far and some suggestions were made this week that Southampton could swoop in their hunt for a new manager.
However, Blues fans remained confident that Monk would not leave for the Premier League strugglers and any worries were swept aside today as the Saints appointed former RB Leipzig boss Ralph Hasenhuttl as their new manager.
Many Birmingham supporters quickly took to social media to celebrate the fact that it means their beloved boss is going nowhere, although there is of course still the chance that another side could eye a swoop if they relieve their manager of his duties.
