Arsenal youngster Krystian Bielik has admitted he would like to rejoin Birmingham City.

The Pole has been hampered by injuries in recent times and is currently on loan at Walsall.

But the 20 year-old told Polish sports publication Przeglad Sportowy – ”I want to play in the Championship. I’d love to go back to Birmingham. I would feel best there. I would not need acclimatisation. I know the club, players, coaching staff.’

Bielik missed out on a loan move to either Nottingham Forest or Norwich City earlier this season after being told he required a shoulder operation.

Bielik continued – ”I wanted to play in a first team in England. I would go to the Championship but, because of the injury, the clubs did not want to risk me. The next day [after the injury] I learned that I am leaving for a loan, I could choose between two major clubs from the Championship – Norwich or Nottingham. Well, I could not, because it turned out that the shoulder had to be operated’.

The defender spent six months on loan at Blues back in 2017 making ten appearances.

It is understood that Steve Cotterill considered the Polish youth international as a possible addition in January but couldn’t muster up the funds due to Financial Fair Play regulations which heavily restricted the clubs spending.
