With up to three players potentially leaving the club before Wednesday’s transfer deadline, it is only right that I look at three players who could sign for the club as well.

Birmingham City boss Gary Rowett has made it no secret that he is still in the market for a left back to offer competition to current full back Jonathan Grounds, as well of possibly signing another striker following the departure of James Vaughan and injury to Jack Storer.

However, unlike earlier in the window, not many names have been linked with the club other than Charlton Athletic left back Morgan Fox but I don’t believe the League One side are willing to let him go.

Because of that, I believe Rowett will look elsewhere and down below are the three players who I think could sign for Blues for the 11pm deadline on Wednesday evening.

1. MATTHEW BRIGGS – COLCHESTER UNITED.

25-year-old Briggs is currently without an appearance this season for Colchester which may suggest that he isn’t in their plans and that he is available for transfer.

After doing some digging, I don’t believe he has an injury which may have lead to him missing the opening few games of the season, and if that is the case, I think Blues could potentially make a move for him.

He is a solid left back who has pedigree having played for teams such as Watford and Fulham so who knows, he could be a gamble worth taking if I am honest.

2. MARVIN EMNES – SWANSEA CITY.

A player who I think could potentially work wonders in the Championship under Rowett’s guidance and somebody who I believe would be allowed to leave on loan.

The Blues boss has always hinted that he wants to bring a Premier League striker in and although Emnes, 28, can play just off the striker, he can play up front as well so I believe he could be an option for us.

Like the earlier mentioned Briggs, Emnes has failed to make an appearance for the Swans so far this season which could suggest that he isn’t currently in Francesco Guidolin’s plans.

3. ASHLEY BARNES – BURNLEY.

Somebody who I have really enjoyed watching over the past five years is Barnes and although he has had his injury problems over the course of the last season or two, I still think he has an awful lot to offer, especially at Championship level.

With Burnley expected to announce the arrival of Chelsea youngster Patrick Bamford on loan in the next day or so, Barnes will more than likely slip further down the pecking order at Turf Moor so a move away from the club shouldn’t be ruled out.

Although I can’t see him leaving the Clarets on a permanent deal, the 26-year-old striker may be available on a season-long loan just to try and get his career back on track and maybe Blues would be able to help him do just that.

Blues fans, out of the three players who have been suggested, which one would you like to see sign for Blues before deadline day? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
